An Update:
I guess it’s apparent that I’ve been missing in action on the blog for quite a bit of time now. Oh…you didn’t miss me huh? Well…that’s awkward.
Let’s just pretend you did and you’ve been eagerly awaiting my return to the blogging world with an update. There, there dear don’t cry. I’m back and we can catch up on all the things that have been happening the last year. I’ll give you a moment to gather yourself. Ah…could you not blow snot on my shoulder?
Now where was I? Right – the update. The last 2 years have brought a lot of change to our family — some good, some unpleasant, but all of which ultimately affected the blog. My hope is to return to blogging consistently with valuable content for your family.
A New Town —

We’ve moved from my childhood hometown to a quaint little spot closer to the Gulf Coast. To say that was hard is an understatement, but we are finally adjusting to life away from my family. Plus, I can’t wait to share the wonderful things I’m discovering about my new city. Look for an upcoming Monthly Blog Series — Mississippi Monday about life on the Gulf Coast.
A New Home —
I’ve always tried to be honest with my blog readers, at times maybe too honest. It’s only fitting that I share that we’ve had some major financial upheavals over the last 2 years. My coupon shopping helped to sustain us, but it wasn’t quite enough to prevent us losing our home or business. There were lessons we learned the hard way and changes made in our money mindset. Basically, we had to learn to Budget and Simplify.
I’m excited to share we’ve been able to buy a new house. In keeping with our goal to simplify and be financially responsible, we bought a less expensive home. It’s meant adjusting to a small neighborhood lot, as opposed to 2+ acres. The girls, however, are loving having their own separate spaces.
I hope to share how we’ve been working to keep our cents in areas outside the grocery store that don’t involve my coupon binder. Plus, we are looking to do some major updates to the house to make it more our own.
Most noteworthy of the adjustments we’re making in our new home is We Have No Internet to Speak Of and I Don’t Know How to Go On! I guess you can understand why that would make blogging difficult. We purchased a hotspot with limited bandwidth, but it’s not a good substitute.
A New Job/Career —
I had the wonderful opportunity to be a SAHM/WAHM for many years while our kids were young. When our Baby Girl went to school, I made the decision to follow giving us both time to transition. I loved the kids and getting to see her throughout the day was a bonus. Life is funny at times because when you least expect it things change. An off-handed conversation led me to a job at a Retail Pharmacy as a Licensed, Registered Pharmacy Technician. No lie guys, some days this job whips my behind, but I love being challenged on a daily basis!
At the end of every day, I’ve been exhausted beyond words and as a result the blog got put on the back burner. I hate that because I Miss You Guys and the Blogging Community!
And a Challenge —

I have a long list of short and long-term goals planned for 2017, with starting a 5 year journal at the top. Over the years I’ve seen several sets of great questions that didn’t quite fit what I wanted, so I’ve decided to change them up a bit to fit my theme: “Family and Christian Life”. You guys know I procrastinate so I don’t have all the details set, nor do I have all the answers. What I do know is that I’ll never get started if I wait for it to be perfect. So…let’s just jump in with both feet and figure it out together.
Tomorrow I’ll post the Family and Christian Life Journal Challenge Page, a review of the planner I’ll be using, and the first week’s questions. I hope you’ll join me and share your pages on Social Media with the hashtag #keepingyourcentschallenge.
