9 Affordable Ways to Pamper Yourself

November 10, 2014

‘Tis the season to stress out! This part of the year can leave us feeling more stressed and financially strapped than any other time of the year. It’s the perfect time to put a little extra effort into self-care and self-care doesn’’t have to break the bank. Here are nine affordable ways to pamper yourself ranging in price from $20-$100.

Affordable Ways to Pamper Yourself

Less than $20

#1 Load up on HuluPlus shows or movies and give yourself a movie night. HuluPlus only cost $7.99 for the month, leaving you $12 for snacks. Indulge with your favorites or have a healthy “junk” food party. If you don’t want to spend time alone, invite a few friends over and ask them to each contribute a snack to pass.

#2 Buy some good old fashioned Mr. Bubbles, light a few candles, put your iPod on some relaxing music and enjoy a bubble bath by candle light. You can of course buy a pricier bubble bath too!

#3 Sleep in. There’’s nothing quite as decadent as spending a morning, or an afternoon, in bed. Prepare in advance so you have an easy breakfast once you wake up and spend the day in your PJs if you want. Kick it up a notch by buying a nice pair of new pajamas or some satin sheets to sleep in.

Less than $50

#4 Get a manicure or a pedicure. There’’s just something nice about getting a manicure or pedicure. If you don’’t normally get them done, this can be a nice way to pamper yourself.

#5 Get a massage. A massage generally costs around fifty dollars. However, it can cost less at a chain establishment. Look for a relaxation massage or a hot stone massage.

#6 Wear cashmere. Cashmere sweaters, hats, gloves and even socks feel luxurious against your skin. And you can find cashmere items at discount stores – it doesn’’t have to cost a fortune. If cashmere isn’’t your thing, what texture feels luxurious to you? Buy yourself something nice, something that makes you feel good.

Less than $100

#7 Hit the spa. A hundred dollars will get you pretty far in the pampering department. You can get a facial and a massage for less than a hundred dollars. You can also get a manicure, pedicure and a haircut.

#8 Buy yourself something nice. UGG slippers, for example, feel fantastic against your feet. It’s a luxury you’ll feel all winter long.

#9 Pamper yourself with a nice meal. If you are social, then head out to a nice restaurant with a friend. Like it better in the peace and quiet of your own home? Consider picking up a nice take-out or having a meal catered.

Self-care is important and there’s no better time than when you’re really stressed. Take time this winter season to pamper yourself, whatever your budget.
